This easy homemade mac and cheese is by far the cheesiest and creamiest macaroni and cheese I have ever made! With more than one kind of cheese along with butter and cream this mac and cheese is so easy and everyone thinks it’s delicious.
Macaroni and cheese is seriously eaten at least 3 times a week in our house. With 3 kids and a picky husband it is such a simple thing to make that makes everyone happy. But after a while you get tired of boxed macaroni, so every now and then I will make homemade mac and cheese. It was hard to find a recipe that everyone loved and one that was easy to make. So, I finally came up with a good, simple recipe that the whole family enjoyed.
I could not get over how much my son loved it. His favorite mac and cheese is Golden Corral’s. Would you believe he ate two bowls of it and then told me it was better than Golden Corral’s! I was shocked.
This easy, homemade mac and cheese does not have to be baked, which I love because the easier the better…am I right? However, you could easily add breadcrumbs and bake it if you’d like.
I used 8 slices of American cheese and this made it VERY cheesy. If you do not want it insanely cheesy I would say just add 6 slices.
For this recipe I only used American and cheddar cheese, but I think it would be ok for you to put other types of cheeses in it.
If I wasn’t making it for my kids I think it would have been good with some cayenne pepper in it as well.
This easy homemade mac and cheese is so simple it could easily be made into a full meal by adding some vegetables and meat of your choice. I think it would be great paired with kielbasa or chicken breast.
Easy, cheesy, creamy and delicious!
